Kayla Carter Parrish is Thompson Burton’s Chief Operating Officer. Since joining the firm in 2014, Kayla’s determination, detail-oriented nature, project management skills, and refusal to back down from a challenge has resulted in her rise from ‘General Problem Solver’ to her current position. Although her original title has changed, problem solving is still an integral part of her day-to-day at Thompson Burton. In addition to implementing firm policies & procedures and overseeing the operations of multiple firm locations, Kayla is also responsible for onboarding, payroll processing, AR/AP, and a variety of other duties that help the firm operate more efficiently.

Kayla is originally from West Virginia and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University Honors College in 2011. As a first-generation college student, she graduated in the top 1% of her class and was awarded the prestigious Order of Augusta. Although always a Mountaineer, Kayla has now lived in the Nashville area for ten years – where she met her husband, Mike, and was married in 2019. While spending time with Mike and their not-so-stray cat, F8, is at the top of her list, she also enjoys books, board games, and boat life! Always wanting to try new things, she recently added fiddle lessons to her list of hobbies (to the dismay of her husband – who now owns noise-cancelling headphones).
