Veteran Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Lawyer, Phillip Young, Joins Thompson Burton PLLC

Phillip Young

Thompson Burton PLLC is very excited to announce the addition of Phillip Young to its bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice.

Phillip is the second high profile lawyer to join the firm’s bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice in the last three weeks. Ronn Steen, formerly with Stites & Harbison, joined last month.

Phillip’s practice focuses on complex or unique bankruptcy, receivership, and distressed asset matters.  He has worked on numerous bankruptcy cases as well as acted as receiver on some of the largest receivership cases in Tennessee.

“I have had the great pleasure to work with Phillip over the last 2 years on a receivership case.  During that time Phillip and I became great friends and developed a mutual respect for each other’s practice.  I couldn’t be happier with his addition to the firm,” said Walt Burton.

Formerly with Bass Berry & Sims, PLC and more recently Garfinkle McLemore & Young PLLC, Young brings a great deal of experience to Thompson Burton.

“I am thrilled to join this growing law firm where lawyers are practicing at the highest levels and having fun doing it.  We’re developing an entrepreneurial energetic culture that I have not observed in other firms in Nashville,” said Phillip Young. “I love working in an environment that fosters practicality and creativity in solving problems.  The great part is my clients are just as excited as I am about the move.”

“Phillip has an outstanding skill set and professional demeanor that will greatly enhance our ability to service clients throughout the Southeast.  I’ve admired Phillip’s practice for years, and I am extremely excited about joining forces with him,” said Ronn Steen.

“The combined experience of Phillip and Ronn under one roof creates a formidable team,
said Walt Burton.

Kevin Thompson added, “We’re privileged to have an attorney of Phillip’s caliber. After all of his years in the business, he’s maintained a deep hunger to grow and improve.”

With the addition of Phillip Young, Thompson Burton is now at nine lawyers with eyes for future growth in strategic practice areas.
