Formerly with Harwell Howard Hyne Gabbert & Manner, P.C., Cañas brings more than 20 years of commercial litigation and bankruptcy experience to Thompson Burton.
David’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including extensive experience with bankruptcy and distressed asset related matters.
“I have had the great pleasure to work with David for over a decade on various matters. During that time David and I have become great friends and have developed a mutual respect for each other’s practice. I couldn’t be happier with his addition to the firm,” said Phillip Young.
“I am thrilled to join this fast growing law firm where lawyers are practicing at the highest levels. The entrepreneurial culture is unlike anything else I have observed in other firms in Nashville,” said Cañas. “I look forward to working in an environment that fosters practicality, creativity, and innovation in solving problems.”
“David has an outstanding skill set and experience level that will greatly enhance our ability to service our growing commercial litigation practice. His reputation is excellent, and I anticipate that he will fit in well with our unique culture,” said Walt Burton. Burton added “the combined experience of David Cañas, Phillip Young, and Ronn Steen under one roof creates a formidable team of lawyers with experience in complex distressed assets cases. Word is starting to get around.”
With the addition of Mr. Cañas, Thompson Burton is now at 16 lawyers with eyes for future growth in strategic practice areas.
