Thompson Burton Partner Recognized by the Nashville Business Journal as a 2014 40 Under 40 honoree


Thompson Burton partner and commercial real estate attorney, Walt Burton, has been recognized by the Nashville Business Journal as a 2014 40 Under 40 honoree.  All of the honorees were chosen by previous 40 Under 40 winners and “were deemed to be making a difference in their companies and community.”  Walt will be profiled in the March 14 edition of the Nashville Business Journal and will also be honored at a luncheon at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel that same day.  Other honorees who made the illustrious list can be found at the Nashville Business Journal.  Congratulations to Walt on this great honor!

Thompson Burton PLLC Welcomes Corporate Lawyer


Thompson Burton PLLC announces that corporate attorney Allison Finkelmeyer has joined the firm. Mrs Finkelmeyer will handle business entity formations, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, securities, SEC reporting, corporate governance and compliance matters. She completed her undergraduate degree in Finance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and received a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law, graduating Summa Cum Laude Order of the Coif. Before joining Thompson Burton, Finkelmeyer served as a in-house legal counsel for Nissan North America, Inc. in Franklin, TN. Thompson Burton’s New Office Space In Cool Springs Building Accommodates Law Firm Growth


We’re very pleased to announce Thompson Burton’s move into new office space, consisting of approximately 4,200 square-feet at Seven Corporate Centre in Cool Springs.  Thompson Burton, which opened its doors in April 2012, is more than doubling its current space in the same building.  “We are adding lawyers and need more square footage to accommodate the growth,” noted Walt Burton.  Kevin Thompson added, “we’ve built our practice around utilizing technology to minimize the need for excessive office space, and we continue to encourage our attorneys to work wherever they are most productive. Ragnar Relay: 198 Miles, 12 Runners, 2 Vans, and $1,400 Raised for Melanoma Research


Alex Scarbrough, Thompson Burton’s newest associate, recently competed in the Tennessee Ragnar Relay.  The race began on a crisp, cool morning, Friday, October 25th in downtown Chattanooga. The temperature dipped into the high 20s as night fell, but high spirits and caffeine powered the team, “Anne’s Allstars,” through the night. Dawn broke as the team raced through Franklin, Tennessee, and the runners finished around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th in downtown Nashville. Two of the twelve runners became injured throughout the course of the race, requiring their teammates to run extra miles in their place. Despite injuries, chilly weather, and fatigue, Anne’s Allstars finished in 29 hours, 12 minutes, and 35 seconds, coming in 34 out of 133 teams in their division. More importantly, Anne’s Allstars raised over $1,400 in honor of Alex’s late mother on behalf of the Melanoma Research Foundation. “I can’t believe I have eleven friends […]
