Ally Hicks is an associate attorney in the Wills & Estates practice group at Thompson Burton. In this role, Ally works with families, business owners, and advisors to craft tax-efficient estate plans tailored to the needs of each client. Ally also represents fiduciaries in probate, guardianship, and conservatorship matters, and assists local entrepreneurs with business formation and governance issues. With a deep commitment to personalized service, Ally is passionate about ensuring her clients feel seen, understood, and taken care of.  

Ally began her legal career in trust and estate administration, serving as both Fiduciary Officer and Trust Officer at Pendleton Square Trust Company. In this capacity, Ally worked with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and their advisors to oversee the administration, legal compliance, and tax reporting of various testamentary instruments. With an eye towards purposeful wealth maintenance, Ally also provided educational services to multi-generational families to ensure the proper succession of assets.

Ally is an LL.M. in Taxation candidate at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, earned her law degree from Belmont University College of Law, graduating 3^rd in her class, and holds a political science degree from the University of Kentucky. While in school, Ally served in a variety of professional and academic roles, ranging from registered lobbyist to staff editor of the Belmont Law Review.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Ally lives in Nashville’s Wedgewood-Houston area with her dog, George. Outside of the office, you can find Ally practicing yoga with her favorite teacher, The Dope Yogi, enjoying Nashville’s live music scene, and spending time with friends and family.
